The purpose of a porcelain crown is to protect the tooth and restore its function, while also improving its appearance.

Porcelain crowns are made from a strong, durable material called dental porcelain. This type of porcelain is specifically formulated to be used in the mouth, as it is resistant to wear and can withstand the forces of biting and chewing. Porcelain crowns are made by a dental laboratory, using a mold or impression of the tooth that is being restored. The mold is used to create a custom-fit crown that is tailored to the specific shape and size of the tooth.
